Everyone here in New Orleans is breathing a sigh of relief now that the madness is over (well, not over). THis year was special for...I got home from the road just in time to meet my father at the airport here in NOLA, and the Sunday before Mardi Gras, and we drug him all over town for 3 days, showing him what the real things ios all about. We watched the Zulu King come ashore Lundi Gras afternoon, I played with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux at a packed Tipitina's that night, and got up early to catch the 100 year anniversary Zulu parade Mardi Gras morning. Then we waited outside the Big Chief's house for his emergence in his new 2009 suit. We second-lined from Monk's house to 2nd & Dryades....too much to describe here but it is quite an experience. I'll post photos asap. My dad loved it! More about it and photos very soon.
